Dr. Wilzig, a disgraced Enclave scientist, flees with CX404, a genetically modified dog he saved years ago, into the post-apocalyptic wasteland where he encounters Lucy, a naive Vault Dweller searching for her father. As Lucy escorts the dying Wilzig toward Moldaver, they are pursued by a mysterious Ghoul bounty hunter and aided by Maximus, a Brotherhood of Steel squire in stolen power armor, who engages the Ghoul in Filly to allow their escape. Wilzig reveals he knows Lucy's true name before succumbing to his wounds and instructing her to bring his head to Moldaver as proof of delivery.
